Hands-on a Holstein Volunteer Program

Hands-on A Holstein is a new opportunity for U of A Agriculture students to bridge North Campus and South Campus for volunteering at the Dairy Research and Technology Center. This program allows information learned in the classroom to be put into a practical environment. Participants will gain a competitive edge as it will introduce them to industry partners, complex issues facing the future of agriculture in real time, and technical experience that will heighten portfolios when applying to veterinary schools. The volunteers will be incorporated into daily operations and special projects centered around animal welfare and management.

The Dairy Research and Technology Center (5724 118ST NW) is a short walk from the South Campus LRT station and there is free parking at the dairy barn. Interested students can contact DDittmer@ualberta.ca for more information.
